Mono’s Making A Mark At Lincoln

We’re very proud to announce that we have been chosen to work with the prestigious main contractors William Birch & Sons on a 12-month project at the iconic Lincoln Cathedral.

Mono Masonry and the strong team of masons have been commissioned to complete restoration and conservation works to the Old Deanery, surrounding walls and the infamous Exchequer Gate Arches.

Works to be completed by ourselves consist of dismantling & rebuilding, new-build, consolidation, Thermatech cleaning, Lime mortar pointing using traditional hot lime mixes, general conservation and restoration to this National Landmark that dates back to 1185 and is one of the best-known cathedrals in the country.

Directors Gary Collier and James Beddow are looking forward to the team working on this National Treasure and have commented:

“The company is very proud to be working on such a building, it’s been a lot of hard work getting to this stage, with our combined experience of nearly 40 in Stone Masonry, we’ve worked on over 10 cathedrals combined, but none as impressive as this. It’s something we are really looking forward to and excited to give our workforce such an amazing experience that will last with us all for years to come”

“We are very privileged to be working for William Birch & Sons on this project and feel that after only 4 years in business it is now our time to show what Mono Masonry can provide as leading Masonry Specialist
